The House voted this week to remove Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene from all committee assignments due to past comments—or was it her Trump support? The vote was 230-199, with 11 Republicans joining their leftist comrades in the effort.
The public reason provided for the vote was Greene’s past controversial comments. These include her past support of QAnon, which she has since denounced after learning more about the group. Greene has now publicly condemned the movement, taking responsibility for past remarks, though Democrats continue to use the excuse as part of their cancel culture plan to destroy another Trump supporter.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy highlighted the hypocrisy of the action.
“While Democrats pursue a resolution on Congresswoman Greene, they continue to do nothing about Democrats serving on the Foreign Affairs Committee who have spread anti-Semitic tropes, Democrats on the House Intelligence and Homeland Security Committee compromised by Chinese spies, or the Chairwoman of the House Financial Services Committee who advocated for violence against public servants,” he said.
Greene’s past comments seem rather mild in comparison with a certain Democrat Congressman who enjoyed a relationship with a Chinese spy while serving on the Homeland Security Committee. Yet Eric Swalwell’s name hasn’t come up for removal from committee, despite some pressure from conservative leaders.
Or what about Minnesota Democrat Congresswoman Ilhan Omar? She has been documented declaring her hope Allah will “awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.” Her efforts include supporting the anti-Semitic BDS movement against Israel (boycott, divestment, sanctions), even comparing the Middle East democracy to Nazi Germany.
And don’t even start with those “mostly peaceful” protests the left continues to support. If Dems can cheer on looters in the streets of America’s cities without losing their jobs, why is a conservative Congresswoman’s remarks before taking office worthy of attack?
Their only excuse, is, hey, because we’re Democrats. The left controls the House, meaning they can just about do whatever they want at the moment. The most frustrating part is that a few rogue Republicans join in their efforts.
What Republican wants to remove a fellow Republican from a committee? There are only two likely reasons. One, someone voting for her removal wants her committee position. A little research shows this is true for some of the 11 who voted with Democrats.
The only other likely option is money. 2022 will be here sooner than we think, and certain Republicans need anything that will help lead to the donations and positive PR needed for re-election.
If their home districts realized this, they would be in for some trouble come November 2022, or perhaps even earlier in a primary. But most Americans are completely oblivious to a handful of Republicans who have joined in on the attack against Greene. They’re busy blaming the Democratic Party itself for the nation’s problems, but fail to realize too many so-called “conservatives” are complicit in the downward spiral in Washington.

As in cases involving Democrats/Left, it quite likely will be swept under the rug and quietly forgotten.
