Rudy Giuliani: “John Bolton is a Backstabber”

A few months ago, President Donald Trump commented on the fact that Washington is littered with people who have a vested interest in new and ongoing foreign wars. He said something to the effect of, ‘When you say you don’t want to do it, they go crazy.’ This gave us a rare glimpse into the kind of pressure presidents are under to use our military power — rightly or wrongly.

Here at Conservative Zone, we have thoroughly documented the insistence for new and further foreign wars that the Left has exhibited since Donald Trump became president. We have argued that this is evidence that the Left has no values. But the Left’s recent embracing of military interventionism shows that the Democratic Party is under the control of those whose interests are entangled with military action.

Enter John Bolton, a Republican political consultant, active in high-level politics for many years. He has long been known as extremely hawkish. President George W. Bush assigned him the job of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, where he set his reputation as perennially pro-war into stone.

So, when Trump took on Bolton as an advisor, it ruffled a lot of feathers. Trump thrives on conflict. And despite the fact that he has surrounded himself with advisors whose reputations seem to contradict his agenda, he continues to deliver on his promises. As far as Bolton is concerned, that’s a bad thing.

After the Senate voted to not hear anymore witnesses for Trump’s impeachment trial, Bolton is striking back at the president for thwarting his agenda. Last week, the New York Times reported, “Bolton wrote in his upcoming book that Trump told him personally that he did not want to release the Ukraine aid unless investigations were opened.”

If you’ve been following the impeachment debacle from the beginning, you’ll see this is pure manipulation. It reflects the same made-up version of the Ukraine transcript that Adam Schiff transparently invented on live television.

Now, Trump’s lawyer, and former New York City Mayor, Rudi Giuliani has come forward to share his informed opinion on Bolton and his recent behavior. Giuliani told CBS News, “There’s the only conclusion I can come to, and it’s a harsh one, and I feel very bad about it: [Bolton is] a backstabber.”

According to Bolton’s claims, he had taken a stance against Trump’s dealings with Ukraine early on, and told Trump and Giuliani that he did not approve. This twisting of events represents Bolton’s strategically switching sides to support the obviously false claims of Trump’s political enemies.

Giuliani went on to say, “Bolton never said to me, ‘I’ve got a problem with what you are doing in Ukraine. Never once, never winked, never sent me a little note. Classic backstabber. So I feel I got a swamp character here. I find his testimony about the president pretty close to incredible.”

In our opinion, this is yet another example of how Trump brings swamp dwellers into his administration for the purpose of exposing them as deep state stooges, and as enemies of the American people. And he’s done it again.
