Republican Senator Tim Scott (S.C.) gave a scathing rebuke to offensive Democrats last Wednesday as he exposed his Senate colleagues’ hypocrisy on race issues after he was the subject of racially charged insults and slurs by many of them on social media.
Scott was recently asked by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday to take the lead in the GOP’s new legislative efforts on police reform. Scott is a great choice by McConnell for the position, as sadly he has first hand dealt with discrimination most of his life. Scott said on social media on Wednesday that his name has been dragged through the mud plenty of times on social media ever since.
Those who mocked the senator with racial slurs on Twitter usually referred to Scott as “token,” called him “boy,” and argued that he is “being used” by the Republican Party.
Scott said he was shocked by his colleagues’ resistance of his appointment to the task of police reform. In true Scott fashion, the Senator from SC told them eloquently about their idiocy, “Let me get this straight … you DON’T want the person who has faced racial profiling by police, been pulled over dozens of times, or been speaking out for YEARS drafting this?”
The Southern senator went on to rebut claims that the Democratic Party is the only party sympathetic to and representative of the black community in America.
“And don’t throw ‘you’re the only black guy they know’ at me either,” Scott posted on social media. “There are only two black Democratic Senators, stop pretending there’s some huge racial diversity gap in the Senate.”
He then exposed the hypocrisy of his Democratic colleagues, saying that despite their spontaneous feigned support of black Americans, the truth is that they go largely underrepresented on their staffs.
“Ask my Dem colleagues what their staffs look like … I guarantee you won’t like the answer,” he added.
Scott told NPR on Tuesday that the Republican legislation brought about to address the country’s police will focus on increased training, especially on de-escalation tactics, that are important to lessen the need for police restraints. The bill may also include more money for police body cameras, as well as check system that requires police departments to report to the Justice Department when an incident results in death.
Senator Scott said that currently there is only $20 million in funding available for body cameras and that only about 40% of departments are underreporting requirements.
The House Republicans hope to have the bill sent to the Senate floor by the Fourth of July recess.

I hear words from good Republicans, but where is the action. We need some protests against this mess that is going on. We have to stand up for our police, radical laws, too many & an ever continuing BLM protests. All lives matter. It is a disgrace that the policeman in Atlanta is is being charged with a murder, when he was doing his job. He was racially charged by a black prosecuter with what seems an all black committee. Stand up and help him!

There are only two kinds of people in the world. Saved and unsaved. The unsaved have a heart of stone full of hate, bigotry, meanness, etc. Some are more hateful and mean than others..
Saved people have given their life to the Lord JESUS and He gave them a new heart with His love, peace joy, etc. There are weak Christians and strong Christians.
Which group are you in. Do you hate or love. Jesus said, “love ONE ANOTHER as I have you loved you.” ONE ANOTHER IS NOT A COLOR OR ETHIC BACKGROUND.
People have the right to peacefully assemble (protest). They don’t have the right to harm other people, destroy property, loot, and so on. Go ahead and keep it up. Defund the police force. Force people and communities to protect themselves.
