Terrorists Emboldened By Biden’s Afghanistan Debacle

Everyday Americans may think they are witnessing the establishment media turn against Joe Biden and his handlers over the Afghanistan catastrophe. Still, their criticisms are just the tip of the spear. Largely focused on the plight of Afghan women, interpreters who helped the U.S. military, and American citizens trapped behind enemy lines, that doesn’t begin to address the frightening reality that terrorism is back.

“And I’m sure we’ll talk about it, but this has significant ramifications for America’s national security, our place in the world that will be a long time in trying to figure out how to get back from,” former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reportedly said. “Now, we’ve gone backward. We probably lost two decades as a result of the way that President Biden conducted this withdrawal.”

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to scroll back the calendar to 2001. On the morning of Sept. 11, jihadists with links to bases in Afghanistan flew planes in New York’s World Trade Center and Pentagon. Brave Americans charged al-Qaeda terrorists and downed a plane many believe was on route to the White House. That’s where America was 20 years ago, and Joe Biden’s handlers have effectively turned back the clock.

The Taliban recently overran Afghanistan and seized control of every village, town, and city. This once ragtag outfit that fled to Pakistan after U.S. troops landed in Afghanistan 20 years ago now possesses American military hardware, including massive caches of M16 rifles and Black Hawk helicopters. Adding insult to injury, terrorist organizations such as al-Qaeda and Houthi rebels in Yemen are celebrating the disastrous evacuation from Kabul. The images of thousands desperately rushing planes in the capital’s international airport make the fall of Saigon look like an orderly drawdown.

“The Taliban’s victory will give jihadist groups worldwide a major boost. It makes them believe that they can expel foreign powers, even major military powers like the United States,” research director at the Soufan Centre think tank Colin Clarke reportedly said. “I expect to see a major propaganda blitz culminating on the 20-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. This will improve morale for jihadis from North Africa to Southeast Asia.”

Rather than conduct a strategic withdrawal that forced the Taliban to adhere to a peace deal brokered by the Trump Administration, Biden’s handlers closed a defensible military-style airport and removed security forces before American citizens had an opportunity to leave. The Biden Administration knowingly put American lives at risk so they could enjoy the theatrical optics of pulling out on the 20-year anniversary. Their efforts to seize a political opportunity backfired when the Taliban didn’t play along.

According to reports, al-Qaeda continued “to plot terrorist attacks against U.S. persons and interests, including to varying degrees in the United States,” as recently as April. The Taliban has a long-standing relationship with al-Qaeda that includes consulting high-level terrorists within the organization regarding how to manage the U.S. Many anticipate they will now return to Afghanistan and freely resume training and murder plots against Western Democracies.

Relations between the Taliban, especially (a militant group in Pakistan), and al-Qaeda remain close, based on friendship, a history of shared struggle, ideological sympathy, and intermarriage,” a U.N. statement reportedly indicates. “Al-Qaeda has reacted positively to the agreement, with statements from its acolytes celebrating it as a victory for the Taliban’s cause and thus for global militancy.”
