The 2018 headlines about the network dubbed “fake news” by President Donald Trump were nothing short of embarrassing.
In September, CNN’s ratings plummeted by a 41-percent margin, and the anti-Trump network found itself pulling up the rear to the likes of Nickelodeon. Fox News and MSNBC dominated the big three’s viewer support with Hannity and Rachel Maddow leading all challengers. At one point, CNN’s top-watched news show — Anderson Cooper 360 — didn’t crack the top 10, and actually sat behind Tucker Carlson’s second nightly airing. Yes, the Tucker re-run.
But what is all too apparent is that the leader in fake news deserves its low marks and sparse following because 2018 was a spectacle of unrelenting unprofessionalism by CNN TV personalities and shoddy “journalism.” These are just some of the more prominent reasons CNN earned every letter in its “Fake News” nickname in 2018.
1: CNN ‘Journalist of the Year’ Busted and Fired!
Since going on the offensive against the Trump Administration, numerous would-be journalists have been forced to resign at CNN after getting caught red-handed faking stories. The Fake News network has a somewhat bizarre process about handling the repeated factual errors and who gets canned over misleading the American public.
That being said, CNN hailed Claas Relotius as its Journalist of the Year in 2014. The now-disgraced reporter of the German magazine “Der Spiegel” came clean in late 2018 that he had fabricated facts, characters, quotes, and anonymous sources on a “grand scale” for years.
The truth came to light after Relotius did a piece on Fergus Falls, Minnesota, that shined a negative lens on the town and Trump supporters. After the townsfolk cried foul, a pair of real reporter retraced the CNN cronies steps.
“What happened is beyond what I could have ever imagined: An article titled ‘Where They Pray for Trump on Sundays,’ and endless pages of an insulting, if not hilarious, excuse for journalism,” Michele Anderson and Jake Krohn wrote after fact-checking Relotius’ article. The non-CNN reporters concluded that the facts in the anti-Trump article are not true and several people quoted do not even exist.
The disgraced CNN darling is in good company though. The Washington Post’s Janet Cooke was terminated after her Pulitzer Prize-winning piece on children addicted to heroin was discovered to be fake news also.
2: CNN Star Hates White Males
If a conservative news organization ever said derogatory things about black males, shock waves would ripple through the reporting world. But racism only runs one way at CNN, and African-American host Don Lemon has proven to viewers the fake news network hates white people.
In October, Lemon said: “We have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right. And we have to start doing something about them. There is no travel ban on them. There is no ban on…they had the Muslim ban. There is no white guy ban. So, what do we do about that?”
Last Year’s ratings plunge at CNN might answer Lemon’s question.
3: CNN Star Hates on Black Men Who Think for Themselves
Hip-hop star Kanye West and President Trump have developed a friendship, and appear to be on the same page as far as policies that benefit African-Americans. The proof is in the data that shows minorities prospering under Trump’s economic leadership.
CNN took great exception to Kanye sitting down with the president that turned into an impromptu love fest. Wearing a MAGA hat in the Oval Office, Kanye embraced the president and vowed to support him in 2020. The Fake News outlet took maximum attack mode by rolling out African-American Don Lemon to do a hatchet job on Kanye.
“What I saw was a minstrel show today — him in front of all these white people, mostly white people embarrassing himself and embarrassing Americans but mostly African Americans because every one of them is sitting either at home or with their phones watching this, cringing,” Lemon said.
The biased network went on to call Kanye a “token Negro” and a “dumb Negro.” Imagine if Fox News ever hit a minority leader that low with no facts.
4: Late Night CNN Host Obsessed with Presidential Penis
The fake news network hosted porn star Stormy Daniels’ now-disgraced lawyer, Michael Avenatti, 59 times in about two months to throw mud at the president. To say ratings declined over that period would be something of an understatement. As off-putting as the sex scandal was, late night host Jake Tapper took things way beyond the pale and actually hosted a segment about the president’s penis.
CNN correspondent Sara Sidner related her proof of an affair between the president and the porn star: “When Daniels came out of the bathroom, she claims Trump was lying on the bed in his underwear. They had sex. She then describes his genitalia in great detail. His penis is distinctive in a certain way,” she writes. Proof, her attorney Michael Avenatti says, she is tired of being called a “liar by Trump’s people.”
The discussion descended into a series of penis jokes. Way to keep in classy CNN. We honestly can’t wait to see what you have in store for us in 2019.

Trump was accused of saying that Sweden was having problems with immigration. THEY ARE!! SWEDEN IS NOW THE RAPE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!! The facts were the immigrants were coming in raping women and girls as young as 12. IT STARTED AS SOON AS THEY OPEN THE BORDER TO THESE PEOPLE! The police/detectives were instructed not to disclose that it was the immigrants because they didn’t want to appear racist. These immigrants have taken over a portion of a city and women and men are attacked if they try to go in that area. It was broadcast on international news. I heard it and view the program. It wasn’t Trump- it was the real news from the country. When problems with immigrants come up it is hidden and Trump has lied on. It’s real. Major immigration problems are also happening in the UK & Hillary was supposed to have given advice to cut off the borders. Why didn’t she say to close the borders in the US? Fake news is only a convenience not to disclose the truth and people need to start watching international news and the PBS.

You should do an article about the worst of them all as far as fake news called FOX news or as many liken the word FAUX news.
