Trump Announces Military Air Shows to Honor Health Care Workers

The Trump Administration wants to show the country’s health care workers just how grateful they are for them, and plans to honor them all with a tribute to their bravery and dedication during the coronavirus crisis.

The brave and dedicated health care workers have been stepping up during the pandemic that has infected 850,000 Americans at the time of writing. Since parades and other types of group gatherings are not allowed due to social distancing, Trump and his team created ‘Operation America Strong’ which will feature flyovers across the US to pay tribute to American medical workers.

“I’m excited to announce that in the coming weeks, the Air Force Thunderbirds — are incredible — and the Navy Blue Angels — equally incredible — will be performing air shows over America’s major cities,” President Trump said. “What we’re doing is we’re paying tribute to our frontline health care workers confronting COVID.”

“And it’s really a signal to all Americans to remain vigilant during the outbreak,” Trump added. “This is a tribute to them, to our warriors. Because they are equal warriors to those incredible pilots and all of the fighters that we have for the more traditional fights that we win and we win.”

The president continued, “Operation America Strong was the idea of our great military men and women. The Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels crews who wanted to show support to the American medical workers who, just like military members in the time of war, are fiercely running toward the fight. It’s gonna be great. I want to see those shows.”

The Air Force’s Thunderbirds began their tribute performances last week as they did a flyover of the Air Force Academy’s graduation in Colorado Springs on Saturday. The jets then refueled in mid-flight so they could continue their tribute to medical facilities and metropolitan areas in Colorado to show their support to health care workers.

“We salute Colorado’s healthcare workers and first responders who are at the forefront of our nation’s fight against COVID-19. They are an inspiration for the entire country during these challenging times and it was an honor to fly for them yesterday,” the Thunderbirds’ official Twitter account wrote.

The next appearance for the Thunderbirds was on April 11, as they performed aerial demonstrations over 18 hospitals and medical facilities in their “home city of Las Vegas to honor the frontline medical personnel combatting COVID-19.”

The exact cities and dates are not yet confirmed, but are expected to be announced soon, with flights taking place within the next two weeks.

The president also said he planned to bring back his “Salute to America” celebration again this year, like the one that was held last Independence Day on the National Mall that featured U.S. military vehicles, fireworks, and a flyover by the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels.

“And on July 4th, we’ll be doing what we had at the mall, as you know, we’re going to be doing it,” Trump said. “Last year was a tremendous success. And I would imagine we’ll do it — hopefully I can use the term ‘forever.’ It was a great success, as you remember, even though it was pouring.”

  1. Wouldn’t coffee and doughnuts be more effective? How much is this ‘ air show ‘ going to cost ?? Surely something more ‘ down to Earth ‘ would be more appropriate?

  2. or…???
without alarming public they are preparing to take on and stave off or Stop “OTHER” neffarious agendas against the people!
    At the ready!

  3. President Trump has done a fantastic job during his time in the WH. I have no doubt that without his leadership in the past four years, America would be in ruin. Nobody could’ve taken on the press, The Congress and impeachment controversies while getting more done for this beautiful country than previous presidents have in the past 15 years, at least. Wake up America! He has been a Godsend, and has enlightened us all about the depth of the swamp in Washington. Thank you, Mr. President! And thank you for recognizing healthcare workers for their commitment.
