Trump Bans Two Apps That Permit Direct Chinese Spying on Americans

President Donald Trump has been taking more serious action to protect US interests and citizens from the hostile actions of Communist China. That may not sound like much of a revelation on its surface, but in today’s political climate, where it’s taboo to even say the Coronavirus comes from China, it needs to be said.

For starters, President Trump announced that he is going to be leveraging some heavy pressure to help keep China’s grubby hands off Hong Kong. Hong Kong, it’s worth noting, had been economically one of the freest places on Earth for at least 20 years. They had become quite culturally Americanized as a result. What’s more, many Hong Kong citizens called out, asking the United States to help them when China was moving in with tanks and riot goons. Hong Kong has become a sister nation in many ways, and our hope here is that they can be restored to their former glory.

Now, on the tech side of things, President Trump has just announced that he will be banning the use of TikTok and WeChat in the United States. These are Chinese-based tech platforms which, it has been found, have been designed specifically to steal user’s information and deliver that information to Chinese companies. And Chinese companies are heavily controlled by the Chinese government.

The Head of Global Technology Policy at Eurasia Group, Paul Triolo said, “This is yet another watershed moment in the U.S.-China technology cold war here where the U.S. government is targeting these two very popular Chinese apps and basically saying they have national security problems. It shows the depth of the U.S. concern.”

Months before the Coronavirus pandemic hit our shores, many people were saying that we are headed straight toward a situation where war with China is likely. This is because the Chinese have paid good money for Washington swamp creatures to hand them major unfair advantages in trade deals with the US. Now that Trump has been hitting the off-switch on those unfair advantages, the Chinese government is feeling the pinch.

You may remember a few weeks ago a story came out revealing the fact that the Obama administration had delivered several million dollars to the bio-weapons laboratory in Wuhan, China. Since then, virologists have been telling us that the virus cannot have developed naturally and that it has features of both SARS and the HIV virus.

This tells us that the idea that China may have developed a flu-like virus that, with the help of a planned economic shutdown, would be an effective economic weapon against the US is worth considering.

Right now, Trump is taking a closer look at tech censorship, which is getting worse all the time. But he is focusing on stopping Chinese companies from using apps and other technology to steal American data.
