Trump Leads War for Real Healthcare Reform

Regardless of which side of the aisle you vote, President Donald Trump is without a doubt a man of his word, and his push to eliminate the woefully deficient Obamacare and reform the health care system proves it.

Since taking office, the president has fought an uphill battle against an opposition party and the biased, fake news media to fulfill all of his campaign promises. He has shut down the government and declared national emergencies to brush aside “resist and obstructers” to combat the opioid crisis, cut taxes, ramp up the economy, defeated the ISIS caliphate, rewrite trade deals, and divert the funds requested by the Department of Homeland Security to build the wall.

In the annals for do-nothing politicians, one would concede President Trump has done more than enough to be ranked among the most successful American presidents in history. Even if he has to run the gauntlet alone, Trump is determined to snuff out the last remnants of the failed Obamacare and create a robust health care system.

Despite the betrayal of now-deceased Sen. John McCain, who cast the deciding vote that scuttled the GOP’s repeal and replace legislation, the Trump Administration has employed a common bureaucratic strategy to geld the Affordable Care Act — death by a thousand paper cuts.

Targeted use of executive orders and changes to the tax laws all but eliminated Obamacare. Today, the incremental assault on his predecessor’s signature failure has it primed for a court fight many expect will result in it being deemed unconstitutional.

“The Republican Party will become the Party of Great HealthCare,” President Trump tweeted. “Moving forward in Courts and Legislatively!”

Apparently, President Trump is already taking the lead. If his past successes with the economy are any indication, Americans could finally enjoy a health care system that the world envies. As the president said, Americans would be rewarded with a “plan that is far better than Obamacare.” Congressional Republicans are in place to back the president’s health care campaign.

“I look forward to seeing what the president is proposing and what he can work out with the speaker,” Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell recently said. “I am focusing on stopping the ‘Democrats Medicare for none’ scheme.”

Congressional Democrats are pushing for a Crazy Bernie-type scheme that would inevitably cause health insurance costs to skyrocket again. Their end-goal appears to make people increasingly dependent on the government. But the GOP rank-and-file are champing at the bit to complete health care reform.

“The leader is sort of anxious to see what the president and his team put forward in terms of a proposal,” South Dakota Sen. John Thune said. “The good news for us is the Democrat alternative, the so-called Medicare for All plan, the government-run program, is very very unpopular.”

But what has gone grossly underreported by the mainstream media is the fact that the Trump Administration has already reversed many of the debilitating Obama-era health care policies and shown tremendous, unilateral leadership on the issue. Consider the following Trump wins.

Here are some of the most substantial examples:

  • Premium Reductions: The Affordable Care Acts caused premiums to double and triple in cost or offered cheap plans with unrealistic deductibles. The Trump Administration effectively stabilized cost hikes.
  • Short-Term Coverage: Obamacare killed inexpensive short-term policies that favored healthy younger Americans. Young people were forced to pay exorbitant amounts. The Trump Administration revived plans that were up to 80 percent less expensive in some cases for 1- to 3-year contracts.
  • Killed IRS Penalty: Among the worst aspects of Obamacare was Americans being either forced to buy a useless plan or pay a tax penalty. The Trump Administration and GOP ended this practice.
  • Competition Across State Lines: Auto insurance deregulation proved that competition benefits consumers with lower costs and improved plans. The Trump Administration opened the door for insurance companies to sell group health care plans across state lines. The policy drove down or stabilized costs.
  • Reduced Drug Prices: The president leveraged the power of his office to pressure drug manufacturers to lower prices. Using the so-called “bully pulpit,” he exposed drug companies who charge Americans far more than they do Europeans for the same medications. He proposes to require “drug companies, insurance companies, and hospitals to disclose real prices to foster competition and bring costs way down.” The drug industry responded with the most significant drop in American medication costs in nearly 50 years.

With the 2020 elections in sight, Americans are confronted with a choice. Voters can back Democrats implementing a socialist health care system that would spike costs and result in declining care. On the other hand, citizens can continue to trust in the leadership of President Trump, whose economic policies rescued the country from recession, created millions of jobs, drove down unemployment and … well … the list of wins is exhausting.

  1. Deceased former Senator John McCain betrayed the Republican Party when he voted with Chucky Schumer & Pelosi in favor of keeping the Obama Health Care Plan. He was also one of the Russian Dosier promoter for President Trump Ku deta.
Why is he a Vietnam War hero? What did he do? He was just another POW. He is no more of a hero than all the other Vietnam POW. He received special treatment by the enemy because he was the grandson and son of two US Navy Admirals. He was a good bargaining chip and propaganda tool. He was given the nickname of Song Bird McCain by his POW peers.
A Hero no rather a Traitor.

  2. The government should get out of business, health care, moral issues. The government purpose to govern, run the military, not be involved in the personal lives of the citizens. Health care was just fine before Obamanation care. I have worked in health care as a professional for over 40 years–NO ONE EVERY WENT WITHOUT CARE!!! Those who needed it got it. The ridicules notion of underinsured, and uninsured is a hoax to give free medical care to those who don’t want to work, who feel that are owed something. In America the notion of something for free is ludicrous, someone has to pay for it. Again I plea with the those who govern–get back to government, get out of any business, the railroads, health care, moral issues. Support the basis of the Constitution not what you all interpret it to mean.

  3. This essay is laughable, and the first sentence is absolutely hysterical; the comedic stylings of Conservative Zone continue apace. The WH today indicated that Trump will be punting on health care, doing nothing until after the next election!!! Several top republicans got to him, slapped him upside his head and got him to back down. They understand that healthcare is a losing proposition for them in the upcoming election…because they have no plan. As much as they dislike Obamacare, they simply have no answer to replace it. This issue is going the same way as the second tax reduction, this time for the middle class, that Trump promised. He and the Republican party are bankrupt—-intellectually, morally, ethically.

    1. They are not bankrupt. Do you know that as a fact? If so, please post the article for us to read.

  4. Quite possibly, one of the first things that needs to be done is to BREAK THE STRANGLEHOLD of the Insurance (EXTORTION) Companies on OUR Healthcare Industry. Doctors & Hospitals backs are being broken by the exorbitant costs of Malpractice Insurance & guess who pays the difference ? That’s a BIG part of the reason Healthcare costs are through the roof. Other reasons DO exist, but MOST come down to the Insurance Companies’ GREED !!! Once they get EXTORTION written into Law, they can do as they please without fear of consequences, because it’s the LAW. They can artificially inflate prices of ANY KIND of Insurance to whatever levels they want & nobody’s going to stop them, because it’s the LAW. And Politicians pockets are GENEROUSLY filled to make sure it stays that way. They also put the squeeze on Big Pharma (who actually deserve it) in much the same way & that’s why Prescription costs are what they are. NO gov’t run Healthcare scheme is going to make even one bit of difference, coming from EITHER SIDE of the aisle, until the Insurance Companies are reigned in & their power to EXTORT are GREATLY REDUCED !!! And make DAMN SURE when it’s done, they can’t make up the difference by raising our CAR & HOMEOWNERS rates to cover their losses !!! ALSO, remember…ANY Gov’t run Healthcare scheme (or scam), from EITHER SIDE of the aisle, IS SOCIALISM & SOCIALISM NEVER ENDS WELL for the people stuck with it……….

  5. The problem with Obamacare was that it took healthcare away from corrupt companies and put it in the hands of an even more corrupt government. Hopefully, Trump can diminish the effect of both of these and return healthcare decisions back to the consumer.
