Today, as Americans are out of work due to the “lockdown” – more and more of our fellow citizens have been forced to apply for unemployment insurance, food stamps, and even to get in line at the food bank. While this is going on, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi goes on a live TV news interview and shows off her vast collection of expensive iced cream and chocolate.
She said Americans should buy gourmet ice cream saying, “mail-order gourmet ice cream is $14 a pint.”
She even tweeted after the interview, apparently totally unaware of how disgusted people were at her insensitivity.
“We all have found our ways to keep our spirits up during these trying times,” she wrote. “Mine just happens to fill up my freezer. #LateLateShow”
Actor James Woods responded with the following tweet:
“Her two refrigerators together cost $24,000 for her specialty chocolate ice creams, but she hates the small business owners of America. ‘Let them eat cake.'”
President Trump, not one to let a good Democrat gaffe go to waste, took the opportunity to work the interview into an ad spot which throws Pelosi’s state of disconnection with the American people into sharp contrast.
According to Newsmax.com, “Pelosi gave Trump a failing grade for his work on coronavirus testing, but the President fired back saying that Democrats were wrong on ventilators and on the U.S. testing capacity.”
“Just like I was right on Ventilators (our Country is now the ‘King of Ventilators’, other countries are calling asking for help-we will!),” he tweeted. “I am right on testing. Governors must be able to step up and get the job done. We will be with you ALL THE WAY!”
Trump went back to the keyboard a short time later to add;
“Nervous Nancy is an inherently ‘dumb’ person. She wasted all of her time on the Impeachment Hoax. She will be overthrown, either by inside or out, just like her last time as ‘Speaker’. Wallace & @FoxNews are on a bad path, watch!”
While it’s unlikely that Pelosi is dumb, she is motivated by forces that make it hard for her to not distort the truth and work against the American people. Unfortunately for her, Americans are increasingly tired of being treated like starving 18th century French peasants by the Democratic Party.
