During the Nixon administration, the progressive Left was heavily engaged in much of the same slanderizing and smear mongering that they are engaged in today. President Nixon is one of the most accomplished presidents of the last century. Certainly, he has his faults, personal shortcomings, and misinformed policies. Every president does. But he deserved credit for initiating a period of improved relations between the US and China, for example.
President Nixon was also fond of a phrase that is quite meaningful today, “the great silent majority.” He was referring to people who were better informed than most about current events and politics, and who also happened to support him. Oftentimes he addressed these voters directly in his regular address to the nation.
Today we have those who take everything spoon-fed to them by the mainstream media establishment, and we have those who seek out more intellectually honest outlets. Often, the chosen outlets of the ladder group are independent researchers that represent a host of viewpoints coming from various positions along the political spectrum. These outlets are under intense scrutiny by the mainstream media, and in recent days these same people have been violently attacked in the streets. A few have even been summarily executed by those who adhere to the hand wringing of mainstream media demagogues.
Those who seek information outside of the mainstream media are overwhelmingly in favor of another term in office for Donald Trump. More and more, as this group faces the same smears that Trump himself faces, as violence against people who are even mistaken for Trump supporters grows — these voters are concealing their intention to vote for Trump. Having seen people lose their jobs just for clicking “like” on pro-Trump posts on Facebook or Twitter, Trump supporters know they are in the midst of a mob climate.
The result of this is two-fold. On one hand, we have the appearance that no one around us is going to vote as we do. On the other hand, a massive and silent ground-swell of Trump support is growing, undetected by the likes of CNN and MSNBC.
Recently, the once-reluctant Trump supporter Scott Adams told Dave Rubin that most of the Trump supporters he knows say that they lie to the poll takers. He said that they tell him they report supporting Biden when they intend to vote for Trump.
This is, objectively speaking, hilarious.
The major outlets and the legacy poll takers, there is reason to believe, are reporting on deceptively managed surveys. We have reported on this recently. They are asking leading questions and polling areas known to overwhelmingly anti-Trump. In addition to this, the outlets are probably even reporting dishonestly on the already skewed information they are getting from the pollsters.
It’s a tactic known as “suppression polling,” and it’s funny because they should be doing the opposite if they want to discourage conservatives from voting. Conservatives tend to act when they feel it is necessary, and they tend to relax otherwise. In short, the lies and violence of the Left are only helping Trump, and the great silent majority is laughing all the way to the ballot box.
I don’t think polls are a reliable source of info. I don’t believe all I hear or read and tend to fact check everything. I believe I am an informed voter and would count myself as one of the silent majority. An informed voter is few and far between in this great country of ours. It seems that every time I ask someone if they fact check what they are saying to me I get a blank stare. If I ask the question who is going to pay for all of this, the answer from most people is”I don’t know”. Well those people are going to be working for a very long time!
