President Joe Biden claimed that if Republicans regain congress in the coming midterm elections – as they are predicted to do – it will be a “sad, sad two years.”
Biden, who has essentially made every wrong decision as president and forced Americans to pay the price, made the claim as part of a clearly desperate effort to salvage what is slated to be one of the most disastrous midterms in history for the Democratic party facing a massive rejection of their failed policies.
Biden spoke to Democratic National Committee members at their winter meeting, encouraging them to rally behind what he said was a “message that resonates” — “Build a better America” — and throw all of their enthusiasm and hard work into winning in November.
“If we don’t do that, don’t do that, it’s going to be a sad, sad two years. Think about Republicans if they controlled the Congress these last two years,” Biden said, adding, “I believe we have a record to be incredibly proud of … a message that resonates: Build a better America. Now we have to do the work. Now what we have to do is we have to sell it with confidence, clarity, conviction and repetition.”
The president also laughably celebrated his efforts in Ukraine, attempting to pat himself on the back for “rallying” NATO nations against Russia’s Vladimir Putin.
The Hill reported, “The president listed Ukraine as an issue for Democrats to run on, touting the unity of NATO and the U.S. against Russia’s ongoing invasion into its neighboring country and saying that Russian President Vladimir Putin has “failed to divide Democrats and Republicans.””
Biden also continued to falsely suggest that it was Russia’s fault that American energy prices are so insanely high – using rhetoric like “Putin’s price hike” – a move which a number of members of the Biden administration have recently deployed to deceive the American people into believing this blatant lie.
Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy called press secretary Jen Psaki out over that lie specifically last week, asking whether the plan was simply for Democrats to blame Putin for everything until after the midterms.
“And so to that point, inflation goes up today. The President’s statement blames the ‘Putin Price Hike.’ Are you guys just going to start blaming Putin for everything until the midterms?” Doocy asked.
“Well, we’ve seen the price of gas go up at least $.75 since President Putin lined up troops on the border of Ukraine,” Psaki replied.
Earlier, Doocy asked, “It sounds like you are blaming Putin for the increase in gas prices recently, but weren’t gas prices going up anyway because of post-pandemic supply chain issues?”
Psaki pushed back — without addressing the earlier increases in gas prices — and pointing only to the most recent spike that coincided with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“Well, we’ve seen the price of gas go up at least $.75 since President Putin lined up troops on the border of Ukraine,” she said offering the same claim.
